Due to road works with traffic lights on the B658 between Shefford and the Broom crossroads we are unable to use the 30 course which has been used in previous years. For the 2013 Interclub 30 we will use a revised version of the Nomads 25 mile course which is based around Southill and Old Warden. Signs will mark the major junctions but the onus will be on riders to make sure they are familiar with the course. At various junctions around the course you will be joining a road with traffic priority, therefore please take care and give way.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
In the interests of your own safety, Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a hard-shell Helmet that meets an internationally accepted standard. In accordance with Regulation 15 ALL JUNIOR competitors must wear Protective Hard Shell Helmets. It is recommended that a working rear light either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use.
Course
1. START on west side
of unclassified road (Old Warden-Southill) at GR 151428 and proceed northwards
to T-junction at Old Warden.
2. TURN LEFT (CARE)
to Cardington junctions where BEAR LEFT.
3. Continue south,
pass under railway bridge BEAR RIGHT to continue to SHARP LEFT at triangle
junction on to Northwood End Road to Ireland
where BEAR LEFT over humpback bridge and continue to junction where LEFT
through Southill village to Broom crossroads.
4. TURN LEFT (CARE) onto
B658 and north to G&M Growers where at RAB LEFT (CARE) onto Hill Lane towards
Old Warden.
5. Pass through Old
Warden to repeat circuit TWICE.
6. On the THIRD circuit
TURN LEFT at T-Junction on to unclassified road to FINISH on east side of road
at GR 146432, i.e. turn in to the start/ finish road following the third ascent
of Hill Lane and subsequent section through Old Warden.
