The Nomads were once again treated to a warm summer evening for Round 10 of the 2013 Briercliffe 10 series. This may be a worrying trend that could almost be mistaken for summer*. There was a strong field of riders who came out to compete in the warm conditions which saw a slight headwind up Growers.
*Although "Summer" has not been experienced directly by anyone on the starting line, conditions did resemble those referenced in fabled songs of forgotten times.
The fastest rider of the night was Ryan Witchell who chipped another 11 seconds of his previous course best to come home with a 23:20.
Andrew Herbert clocked the second quickest time, with his best time around the course this year, and Gavin Ashfield rolled in third, also with his best time around the course.
Congratulations to all the riders who posted their best efforts of the year, but particually to Jon Traynor and David Rickels who posted PB's over 10 miles for any course. In fact of the 15 starters there were 2 PB's over 10 miles, 3 PB's on the Briercliffe 10 course and another 5 seasons best around the course (see times for riders).
Once again thanks goes out to Frank Turner, James Spence, Geoff Perry and Charlie Pugh for timekeeping/pushing off and to all those who came out to support.
